BarberLog — Haircut Tracker
Answers to everyday questions
Here's how BarberLog works day to day. The app hasn't launched yet — if your question isn't answered below, or you'd like to hear when it goes live, drop us a line at info@niapps.com.
Getting started
Where will BarberLog be available?
BarberLog is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17 or later), in five languages: English, Dutch, German, French, and Spanish.
What will BarberLog cost?
The plan is simple: free to download, with a one-time Pro unlock for the extras — no subscription, ever. Final pricing will be on the App Store page at launch.
Do I need an account?
No. There's nothing to sign up for — your data lives on your iPhone and syncs through your own iCloud account.
Rebooking & calendar
How does the two-tap rebook work?
Your barber, service, and price are already stored from previous visits. When it's time for a haircut you only pick a date and time — BarberLog writes the appointment straight into your calendar with the shop's address and phone number embedded in the event.
Which calendar permission does BarberLog need?
Write-only access. BarberLog can add your haircut appointment to the calendar, but it can't read or see anything else in it. You pick the event alerts yourself — the same presets as the Calendar app, from the time of the appointment up to a week before.
What notifications does BarberLog send?
Two kinds, both optional: a time-to-leave alert based on the travel time you set for the barber, and a weekly notice of your upcoming appointments.
Before & after photos
How do before/after photos work?
For each visit you can take or pick a before and an after photo. Open a visit and compare them with an interactive slider — over time your visits become a visual history of your haircuts.
Where are my photos stored?
In the app on your device, and in your own iCloud along with the rest of your data. Photos are downscaled before saving to keep sync fast and storage small. They never touch our servers.
Spending insights
What do the insights show?
What you've spent in total and on average, how often you go, a monthly spending chart, and a per-barber breakdown — so you know exactly what your hair costs you.
Sharing, sync & privacy
Does BarberLog sync between my devices?
Yes. Your barbers, visits, and photos sync automatically through your own iCloud account.
Can I share a barber with my family?
Yes. Share a barber — with all its visits — with another iCloud user, for example to keep track of the whole family's haircuts together. It appears in their list marked with a family icon, and you decide whether they can edit or only view.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything stays on your device and in your own iCloud; a shared barber is visible only to the people you invite. Calendar access is write-only, and we store nothing on our own servers.
