FightWeight – Weigh-In Tracker

Answers to everyday questions

Coming soon to the App Store

Here's how FightWeight works from fight setup to the morning after the weigh-in. If your question isn't answered below, send us an email — we're happy to help.

Getting started

When and where can I get FightWeight?

FightWeight is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). The app is in English.

What will it cost?

Pricing will be announced at launch. What's already certain: there are no ads and no niApps account to create.

How do I set up a fight?

On the Cut tab, tap Set up fight — or tap the plus on the Fights tab — and enter a name, the fight date, the weigh-in date and time (the app suggests the day before; flip the switch if you weigh in on fight day), your target weight, and your current weight. The app immediately shows how much you have to lose, how many days you have, and what that means per day. Leave Track on the Cut tab switched on so this fight becomes the one you're cutting for. You can edit all of this later from the fight's menu.

Can I use pounds instead of kilograms?

Yes. Switch between kg and lb in Settings or in the fight setup; every number in the app follows. Weights are stored in kilograms internally, so switching units never changes your data.

Tracking the cut

How do I log my weight?

Tap Log today's weight on the Cut tab, type your weight, set your water intake with the slider (0–8 litres), and add a note if you like — sauna, training, how you feel. There's one entry per day: logging the same day again replaces that day's entry. To edit or delete an entry, open the fight on the Fights tab and tap the entry in its log.

When should I weigh myself?

At the same time every morning — after the bathroom, before food or water — so the trend is clean. Turn on the morning weigh-in reminder in Settings and pick a time. You get one reminder per morning until the weigh-in day of the fight on the Cut tab, then they stop by themselves. It's a local notification on your phone.

How does the on-track projection work?

Once you've logged at least two mornings, FightWeight fits a trend line through your last seven entries and extends it to the weigh-in date. Projected under target means On track; up to 1 kg over means Slightly behind; more than that means Behind. The dashboard also shows the rate you need per day next to the rate you're actually losing.

The projection looks off — why?

It's a straight line through recent mornings, so one unusual reading (a big meal, a heavy training day) shifts it. Keep logging at the same time each day and it settles. It's a trend, not a prediction of a water cut, and it never tells you how to cut.

What does the chart show?

Every logged weight as a line, your target weight as a dashed green line, and the weigh-in day as a vertical marker — so you can see the whole cut at a glance.

Weigh-in day

What is the weigh-in day checklist?

The Weigh-in day tab holds a checklist that's created with every fight: ID and licence, weigh-in outfit, scale check, rehydration drink and electrolytes, post-weigh-in meal, gloves, wraps and mouthguard, time and location, transport, coach. Tick items off, add your own, swipe to delete, or reset the list. It's saved per fight, and if the fight is shared, your coach sees it too.

How do I log the official weigh-in?

From the day before the weigh-in, a Log official weigh-in button appears on the Cut tab. Enter the weight from the official scale and the app tells you whether you made weight. That number is what your fight history shows, and logging it also stops the morning reminders.

How do the rehydration reminders work?

When you save the official weigh-in, leave Rehydration reminders on. From that moment you get a notification every 45 minutes for 6 hours by default — sip, don't chug; a small carb-rich meal; add sodium — and you can change the interval (15–120 minutes) and duration (1–12 hours) before saving. They're local notifications, so the app will ask for notification permission the first time.

How do I stop the reminders?

The morning weigh-in reminders stop by themselves once you log the official weigh-in or the weigh-in day has passed; they also have their own switch in Settings. The rehydration reminders run for the duration you chose when saving the weigh-in (6 hours by default) and then stop. To silence FightWeight earlier, turn off its notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications.

Fights, history & sharing

How do I start the next fight camp?

Go to the Fights tab and tap the plus. A new fight takes the Cut tab automatically once the previous cut is over, so you can start logging right away. The finished fight moves to Past fights with all its logs — nothing is lost.

Can I track more than one fight?

Yes. Keep as many fights as you like — the Fights tab lists the one on the Cut tab, upcoming fights, and past fights. Only one fight is on the Cut tab at a time; swipe another fight and tap Track, or open it and tap Track on the Cut tab, to switch. You can also add a past fight with Track on the Cut tab switched off, purely for your history.

What does history show?

Every past fight with its start weight, the official weigh-in weight, and whether you made weight. Open a fight to see the same countdown, projection, chart, and checklist as on the Cut tab, plus every daily entry. Swipe a fight to delete it — that removes all its logs too.

Does my data sync between devices?

Yes. Fights, entries, and checklists sync between your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud account — you need to be signed in to iCloud on each device, and Settings shows the current iCloud status. Your unit and reminder preferences are per device. There's no export yet.

Can my coach follow my cut?

Yes. Open the fight's menu and tap Share fight. Apple's sharing sheet lets you send an invitation by message or email and choose whether they can only view or also log for you. Your coach needs FightWeight and an iCloud account; the fight then shows up on their Fights tab marked Shared with me, with the same countdown, projection, log, and checklist. Manage sharing in the same menu lets you change permissions or stop sharing at any time.

Privacy & safety

Do I need an account?

No. There's no niApps account to sign up for. FightWeight uses the iCloud account already on your iPhone to sync between your devices and to share a fight with your coach.

What data does the app collect?

Nothing goes to us. Your fights, weights, water, and checklists are stored on your phone and in your own iCloud account; a shared fight goes only to the people you invite. The app has no analytics, no ads, and talks to no server of ours. If you email us from the app, the draft ends with the app version, first-install date, iOS version, and device model so we can help — and nothing is sent unless you send it.

Does the app tell me how to cut weight?

No, on purpose. FightWeight tracks and reminds; it does not prescribe a weight cut, and it gives no sauna, diuretic, or water-loading guidance. Extreme dehydration is dangerous — cut under the supervision of your coach or a medical professional.
