Getting started
Do I need an account to use MiNance?
No. MiNance works straight on your iPhone — no sign-up, no password, no login. When you first open it you'll set a name and create your first portfolio, and that's it. The only Apple sign-in involved is for the App Store and the optional Pro upgrade.
Which devices does MiNance run on?
MiNance is an app for iPhone and iPad, and it syncs between them via iCloud. There's no Android or web version, and at the moment there's no Apple Watch app, Home Screen widget or CarPlay support.
How much does MiNance cost?
MiNance is free to download from the App Store. The free plan lets you keep one portfolio with one exchange and one asset, which is enough to try it out. An optional Pro upgrade unlocks unlimited portfolios, exchanges and assets. Pro is billed through your Apple account and you can manage or cancel it any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
How do I get started?
Create a portfolio, add the exchange you trade on (it's just a label to group your holdings), then log your positions as buy and sell orders. MiNance combines those with live prices to show your market value, profit/loss and asset allocation.
Tracking your holdings
Can I keep more than one portfolio?
Yes — on Pro. You can group your holdings into separate portfolios, for example a long-term portfolio and one for active trades. The free plan includes a single portfolio.
What does adding an exchange do?
An exchange in MiNance — Bitvavo, Kraken, Binance, MEXC and so on — is a label you use to group the holdings you keep there. It is not a live connection to that exchange; MiNance doesn't log in to your account or pull balances automatically.
How do I add my holdings?
You enter them as orders. For each buy or sell you record the asset, the amount, the price, the date and any transaction fee. MiNance uses those orders to work out your average buy price, your current value and your profit/loss.
Which assets can I track?
MiNance is a crypto portfolio tracker — from Bitcoin and Ethereum to smaller coins. You can add a custom ticker if a coin isn't found automatically; live pricing works for coins that price data is available for.
Does MiNance need my exchange login or API keys?
No — and that's deliberate. MiNance never asks for your exchange password or API keys and never connects to your trading account. You enter your trades yourself, so the app can't move funds and your exchange credentials are never involved.
Prices & performance
Where do the live prices come from?
Live crypto prices come from CoinGecko. You don't need an API key or any account for this — MiNance fetches prices for you. Refreshing prices needs an internet connection.
What does MiNance calculate for me?
From your orders and the latest prices, MiNance shows your market value, realized and unrealized profit/loss, your average buy price per asset, and the transaction fees you've paid — down to the cent.
What is the risk/reward calculator?
It's a quick tool to plan a trade: enter your entry, target and stop levels and MiNance shows the risk-to-reward ratio, so you can size up a trade before you place it on your exchange.
Can I see how my portfolio changes over time?
Yes. Interactive charts show your portfolio value over time, and you can drill into any holding to see its price history, your average cost, and what the position is worth right now.
Can I change the display currency or theme?
Yes. You can choose the currency MiNance shows your values in, and switch between light, dark or automatic appearance in settings.
Does MiNance work offline?
Your portfolio and orders are stored on the device, so you can open and edit them offline. Prices are shown from the last refresh and update again once you're back online.
Free & Pro
What are the limits on the free plan?
The free plan includes one portfolio, one exchange and one asset. It's meant to let you try MiNance properly before deciding whether Pro is worth it for you.
What does Pro unlock?
Pro removes the free-plan limits, so you can add as many portfolios, exchanges and assets as you need. The exact price and options are shown on the upgrade screen in the app.
How do I manage or restore my Pro subscription?
Pro runs through your Apple account, so you manage or cancel it on your iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If you move to a new device, use “Restore purchases” on the upgrade screen to get Pro back.
Sync & your data
Does MiNance sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Yes. If you're signed in to iCloud, your portfolios, exchanges, orders and assets sync automatically across your devices over iCloud (CloudKit). There's no separate MiNance account to set up.
How do I move my data to a new iPhone?
As long as you sign in to the same iCloud account, your data syncs to the new device automatically once you install MiNance and open it — there's nothing to export or import by hand.
Is there a manual backup or export?
MiNance doesn't have a separate export or backup file — iCloud sync is your safety net. With iCloud on, your data is kept in your own iCloud and restores automatically on a new device.
Privacy & permissions
What data does MiNance collect about me?
Your portfolios and trades stay on your device and in your own iCloud. MiNance has no account and no server of its own, so it doesn't build a profile of you. The only thing sent out for prices is the coin symbols, to look up their value.
Does MiNance track me or show ads?
No. There are no ads, and the app doesn't sell or trade your data. It doesn't use your location or read your contacts. Your holdings are yours.
What permissions does MiNance ask for?
Very little. MiNance doesn't request location, camera or contacts. It uses your iCloud for syncing your portfolio across devices, which you can turn off in iOS settings if you'd rather keep everything on one device.
