Swing-thought journal for golfers
Swing Keys
One swing thought per shot.
Every golfer collects swing thoughts — from lessons, from videos, from that one great range session. The problem is taking six of them to the first tee. Swing Keys stores them all, makes you pick at most two for today, and keeps score of which ones actually work.
How it works
Keep, pick, log — the whole app in three steps.
Keep your keys
Save every cue that has ever worked for you as a short key — 'Slow takeaway', 'Grip pressure 4/10', 'Tempo 3:1' — sorted into setup, backswing, transition, impact, tempo, short game, putting, and mental. The form nudges you to keep it to a few words: it has to fit in your head on the tee.
Pick today's focus
Before you play or practise, pick the key you want to trust today — two at the very most. Try to add a third and the app refuses: one thought at a time is the whole point. Your focus sits on a big card you can read at a glance on the tee.
Log it in ten seconds
After the session — range, 9 or 18 holes, short game, or a lesson — rate how the swing felt from 'Lost it' to 'Flushed it' with one tap. The rating is credited to the keys you had in focus, and a note field takes your score and what clicked.
What's inside Swing Keys
A journal built around one opinion: one thought at a time.
A library for every cue
All your keys grouped by category, each with an optional line of detail and a count of the sessions it has been used in. Archive the ones that stopped working instead of deleting them — swing thoughts have a habit of coming back.
A hard cap of two
Focus is limited to two keys — enforced, not suggested. It's golf's oldest advice built into software: you can't fix five things during one swing.
Ten-second session log
Session kind, date, a 1–5 star rating for how the swing felt, and an optional note. The keys in focus are attached automatically — tap one to remove it if it didn't apply that day.
Your keys, ranked
A chart of swing feel over time, coloured by session kind, and a leaderboard of your keys by average rating — with session counts, last-used dates, and a trend arrow once a key has enough sessions behind it.
Hot streaks and dust
Keys that keep producing good sessions earn a 🔥 badge; keys you haven't taken to the course in two months get a 💤. You also see which keys have never been used at all — maybe they weren't worth keeping.
Tee-time reminder
Set your tee time and get one notification before you play — with today's focus keys right in the message. The Sharpie note on the glove, replaced. It's a local notification, straight from your phone.
Privacy & honesty
Your swing is your business
Swing Keys is built the niApps way: no account, no tracking, no servers of ours — and no pretending to be your coach.
On your device
Keys, sessions, and ratings live on your iPhone or iPad. There's no cloud sync and nothing touches a niApps server.
No ads, no trackers
No ads, no account, no analytics. The reminder is a local notification; if you email support from the app, only the details you send leave your phone.
A journal, not a coach
Swing Keys never analyses your swing and never tells you what to change — your pro knows your swing. The app just keeps score of which thoughts work for you.
